        Solving up altogether and using Newton's 2nd law, we have:

        all the forces acting on the direction of the motion (some in favor of it and some against it)= total mass of the system times the acceleration of the system

        you only need to find

        always take into consideration that frictional forces oppose to the motion, and pulleys are devices that change the direction of the motion if the are considered massless.
